Writing a Book Review Assignment and Rubric
After completing your literature circle book, you will be writing a book review for the Cashmere High School Wiki- the same place you posted your summer book review. The review you write should follow the format given to you in the examples in class. The rubric below shows how you will be scored.

Introduction	Your introduction is interesting and piques the reader’s attention. The author and title of the work are presented.
Summary	Throughout the review, you offer a detailed summary. You do not give away anything that should be kept secret as not to spoil the book for the next reader. You do NOT tell or overly imply what happens in the end.
Information on the author	Throughout the review, there is information about the author’s life and background and how that influenced the book.
Information on Awards	You mention, somewhere in the review, the awards the book has won.
Recommendation	You give a thorough explanation of who you would recommend the book to and why. You may also include who you think would not enjoy the book.
Does the CHS library have it?	Include whether or not the CHS library has the book and how many copies we have.
Conventions	This will be a PUBLISHED review on the CHS website. There should be ZERO spelling, typing, or grammar errors.

Information you will need to research in order to write your review:
·Author, title, number of pages
·Information on the author’s life and how it influenced his/her when writing the book
·What awards the book has won. If there are many awards, find out which are the most important.
·Does CHS have the book? How many copies?
